residual stress sample question

Hi everyone;

I am taking a course whose name is residual stress in manufacturing processess and I will have an exam next week..Our professor wants us to bring a sample question about residual stresses..this question must be calculatable i.e. we need to make some calculations..I have been searching on the internet to find one but I couldnt find any question which is calculatable..I hope someone will help me in this forum..

Hi there!

I tried to do a quick look, but could you not use theory from your strength of materials course. We did plastic bending, using an elastic-perfectly plastic material model and then worked out the residual stress?

Maybe you have something in your texts?

Let me know if you need an example from my side?
